One can certainly argue that they have much to celebrate and be proud of.

Even though I think the environmental movement has far from failed, I think it’s good to constantly be thinking of new ways to improve it. In particular, I think it’s important to continue to be raising awareness of problems, but even more important to present solutions and empower people to create their own solutions locally. The Transition Towns movement (http://www.transitionnetwork.org/) is doing some really cool work in this area and I’m involved in a group in Washington D.C.
